Through general and speciality clinics we offer a wide variety of psychotherapy services to treat issues, such as anxiety, depression, life adjustment, relationship conflicts, ADHD, and parenting concerns, just to name a few. We also have a range of group therapy options for consideration including a culturally-relevant and empowerment-focused group for Black adults led by Black clinicians.
Our comprehensive assessment services include evaluation of intellectual abilities, academic skills, memory, personality, and behavior, as well as career-related issues. Assessments completed at the CPSD are often used to support student petitions for academic accommodations.

We offer outpatient services to members of the VCU and Central Virginia communities. Services are available to individuals of all backgrounds and a wide range of ages - from preschoolers to seniors - and couples and families of all types. The CPSD is a certified testing center (CTC) for Pearson Assessments' Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Learn more about testing schedules and registration for the MAT.
We do not provide walk-in/same day appointments, or provide emergency services after regular clinic hours. In case of emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
The CPSD is not currently accepting applications for court-ordered assessments to determine custody or for medications management. The CPSD does not prescribe medications.
