v.c.u. college of humanities and sciences center for psychological services and development

The Center for Psychological Services and Development (CPSD) assists individuals and families in need of counseling and assessment with affordable services provided by professionals and graduate students in the mental health field. The CPSD is operated through the Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

We provide training for Clinical and Counseling students in the Doctoral Psychology programs and for VCU graduate students in related mental health fields. The students are supervised by faculty members who hold licenses in mental health professions, including licensed clinical psychologists, licensed rehabilitation counselors, and licensed clinical social workers.

The CPSD offers a wide range of therapy and assessment services, in-person and via telehealth.  We provide evidence-based assessment and treatment for a variety of concerns across the lifespan, including anxiety disorders, depression, parenting, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorders as well as problems of daily living.

We offer culturally-relevant and empowerment-focused group counseling to Black adults led by Black clinicians.

La Clínica de Salud Mental Latina atiende a niños y adultos latinos que están experimentando dificultades emocionales, interpersonales y de comportamiento.
