From Our Director
Welcome! We are delighted that you are considering us for mental health care for you or a loved one. Since 1984, the Center for Psychological Services and Development has served the Central Virginia community while providing excellent training for doctoral students in VCU’s clinical and counseling psychology programs.
CPSD offers year-round therapy and assessment services for children, teenagers and adults throughout the central Virginia area. The use of teletherapy has allowed us to expand treatment across the Commonwealth. Our clients face a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety and depression, to name but a few. We also enjoy working with people who may not have a specific mental health diagnosis and rather are looking to find ways to overcome challenges and live their best lives.
We serve a diverse population and work hard to create a climate that welcomes and respects people of all cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds; immigration status; sexual orientation; gender identity; and abilities. Our clients range in age from preschool through senior adults, with VCU students making up about 25% of our client base.
Be sure to check out our Services page for details about how to get started at CPSD.
Warmly,
Nicole L. Fischer, Ph.D., ABPP
Director, CPSD
